We began learning about a very special Yom Tov. One of the reasons why it’s so special is, because we’re counting the Omer waiting until we can receive the Torah. After Hashem created the world He was looking for someone to give the Torah to. All the other nations complained that the Torah would be too hard to keep- but the Jews said Naaseh Venishma, we will do & then we will learn without asking why. We learned a song about Naseh V’Nishma and we sing it all the time.
Hashem chose Har Sinai from all the other mountains because it was most humble of all. Al the mountains were showing off. On Har Sinai He gave us the Luchos- which was sapphire blue with the Aseres Hadibros. We spent a while recognizing & putting the letters Aleph to Yud in the right order on the Luchos. We painted our very own Luchos, then cut & glued the letters in the right spots. It took lots of concentration & hard work to master this skill.
After Hashem chose Har Sinai, beautiful flowers and greenery sprouted on the mountain.
The world was quiet, everything stopped, the animals didn’t make a sound & everything in this world was waiting. Men, women & children gathered in front of Har Sinai, they saw the thunder & heard the lightning. Soon, Hashembegan saying the Aseres Hadibros - the ten commandments. Every single Jewish neshama - soul was there, even though we don’t remember it we were there too. We love practicing saying the 10 Dibros in a booming voice. The Yeladim love hearing Morah retell the story .
We also made Aseres Hadibros & a cereal box Torah too. We acted out the entirestory of Har Sinai and we took turns being Moshe Rabeinu, enjoy these pictures.
